I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Dollar General (Louisville, KY) in Dec 2014
Interview
Questions were read from a typical interview guide for similar positions. The DM interviewing me didn't even seem to care how I answered the question, and didn't ask any follow up questions to engage in conversation. It's almost as if she didn't understand why she was asking those specific questions, it was just another task to complete. The regional director that interviewed me was much more engaged and I could tell she had a much better sense of the overall position and company.
It really seemed as though I had the job locked down just based on having previous experience. I went in kind of nervous, but it soon went away once I realized that they needed me as much as I needed them.
