I was told it would be 3 interviews max, and then decisions. That went great, I was told I was the chosen candidate. Suddenly after that, I was asked to come and meet additional C level managers, since they also wanted to chat, just to meet me. I was told that I would be updated as soon as next steps were ready. Then I was told I was top 2 candidates and they acted like they hadn’t previously noted that I was the selected candidate, but they just wanted to be very sure. Then I heard nothing for a week, so I emailed. I was told they would call me. They didn’t. Then I was told they would call me another time. They didn’t. I emailed for more than another week, finally using a generic email address for HR, and received a response which I already obviously knew- they had gone another way. The ghosting of someone who they previously told was selected as their new employee is absolutely disrespectful and humiliating, it doesn’t take much to send a quick email advising someone they weren’t the chosen person. I was so shocked because my initial interviews had been so exciting. This whole situation was such a strange experience and really affected my view of the company and their professionalism.
