I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Enterprise Mobility (Newcastle upon Tyne, England) in May 2019
Interview
First Interview: This was with a female recruitment manager, which was fairly laid back and just went through more about the scheme and what I'd applied for. And finished with some pretty basic competency based questions.
Branch Visit: This is where I attended a branch to meet the Area Manager and other graduate employees. Some staff were nice and welcoming though some of the men, I found to be arrogant and incredibly uninterested in anyone but themselves. On this particular day it appeared that they spent most of their time calling other branches to borrow cars rather than anything else. What little selling I saw appeared to be pressure selling in my opinion, but that is par for the course when Enterprise have strict performance targets to follow. One Graduate when asked what his work/life balance he told me it didn't matter as he didn't have an outside life anyway.
Manager Interview: This arrogance continued into Area Manager interview, who it seemed to make it his duty to inform me of how well he had done to get in that role, the amount of work he'd put in and how great he was. Went through my CV and asked about my hobbies and told me that I would struggle to continue these if I was to get the role. Though in fairness, Enterprise made incredibly clear that the role is 48+ hours a week throughout the process.
I have been informed that my Area Manager Interview was unsuccessful due to being too critical and negative about past workplace management. I will learn from this experience and in future, appreciate that sometimes it may be that total honesty may not be the best policy.
