      Crew Scheduler Interview

      8 Sept 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Irving, TX
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Envoy Air (Irving, TX) in Aug 2018

      Interview

After applying online, I received an email asking me to confirm my attendance to the group interview that would take place the following week. There were 26 of us in the room waiting when we were first greeted by the HR rep. The first thing he said was that he was only expecting 17 people. There weren't enough chairs for everybody in the room. He was a nice guy and he gave us a brief overview of the company, and told us to save any questions about the job for the department reps. The department representatives pulled us into another room six people at a time for the interviews. There were three reps total: the department head, the lead crew scheduler and the lead recruiter. They were pretty dry for the most part. They gave off this vibe that they didn't particularly want to be there. I think I saw one of them smile once or twice. The interviewees had more personality than the interviewers did. Questions were pretty straightforward and easy to answer. I usually volunteered first or second to answer anything they asked. They never really asked us to elaborate more on anything we said, nor did they have any follow up questions to our answers, which gave the impression that they were not engaged. When it became our turn to ask them questions, they only let about three people out of the six of us get a question in before they suddenly hurried us out, so that they could bring in the next group. When I asked how many positions were open, they didn't give a straight answer. They said they were "just pooling". Not really a bad experience, but it could have been better.

Group interview, 2 supervisors asked each of us about 5-6 questions. Still very short and brief, and straight to the point. If chosen they let you know as soon as possible… everything about the interview process was rather smooth.
