I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in Jan 2015
Interview
They reached out to me via university careers website and asked me to apply online. After that, there was a very easy phone interview, just basic going over the resume type stuff. About a week after that I was asked to Verona for an on site interview. Process included a sort of case interview where I was asked to read over three emails/voicemails and then prioritize which ones I would respond to first on the job. Then there was an HR interview, where they asked standard HR questions. There was also an online grammar test that had to be taken on site, which was very easy.
Other parts of the day included lunch with employees and a tour of the facilities.

Interview
I went through one round of interviews with a group wherein the agenda was mostly presenting information about the company/position followed by a brief case study exercise. The second round consisted of a one-on-one interview with my recruiter wherein we discussed more personality questions.

Question 1
They asked me how I would handle an unforeseen delay during a high-stress, critical implementation environment.
Remote/virtual assessment of my coding ability (OK to use general language vs. a specific language), verbal ability, problem solving ability. Onsite interview - triaging client problems. A lunch where they don't tell you that you are being judged on your social interaction, but you are.

Interview
Phone interview was very straightforward. The interviewer asked me to confirm the information displayed on my resume. The interviewer then proceeded to ask me about where I planned to see myself in the next five years, why I was interested in Epic, what percentage of my working time I would be willing to devote to travel, and general questions about who I am as a person. Nothing too intense. I was prepared with a few questions about the company to show interest in the job. The skills assessment is the next step in the interview process. Make sure to take your time and answer accurately or you will not advance in the interview process.
