The process started with conversations about my CRM experience, lifecycle marketing, retention, and how CRM can contribute to business goals such as LTV, CAC payback and repeat purchase growth.
The people I spoke with were friendly and the product seemed interesting.
However, the process included a very demanding business case. The assignment required a full audit of an existing post purchase flow, strategic recommendations, test hypotheses, success metrics, prioritisation, and a 6 month and 18 month CRM roadmap.
In my view, the task went far beyond a simple skills assessment and was closer to unpaid strategic CRM consulting work.
After investing significant time and effort into the task and presentation, I received a rejection without meaningful feedback on the work itself. That made the experience feel quite one sided and raises a fair question for candidates: is the company genuinely evaluating people, or also using the process to collect strategic ideas?
My advice to future candidates: be aware that the process may require a lot of unpaid strategic work. If you decide to proceed, clarify upfront whether you will receive concrete feedback on the task and how your submitted ideas will be used.

Question 1
How would you audit and improve the current post purchase flow, and how would you build a 6 month and 18 month CRM plan to improve retention, LTV / CAC, and meals purchased per customer?
Yet another company that ghosts candidates after they've put in hours of work on a case study. The first step was a meeting with the hiring manager. I was then asked to work on a design case study. The scope of the assignment was, as it often is, way too big. I was basically asked to analyze the whole product, list potential issues, and then design solutions. They also wanted me to prepare a presentation with all my findings and designs as my final delivery. So I spent 20+ hours on the case study and the presentation and sent it in. I was then invited to present to the hiring team. I thought the presentation went well and they said they would get back to me "within a few days". One month later and I still haven't heard back from them. Not even a generic rejection email. I can understand if I didn’t make the cut but after all the time I spent on the case study, basically working for free, I would, at the very least, expect to get some feedback from them.
