I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at FS Food Group (Charlotte, NC) in Dec 2025
Interview
Advertised executive chef position with relocation assistance . 5 weeks of zoom calls with upper management. Background check. Invited to stage. Worked with Exec Pitt Master Matt Barry. Amazing guy. Good knowledge. Down to earth. Great leader. Did my tasting. Bob and Matt gave great feedback. Bob had concerns of relocation because they were burnt in past from someone relocating. Matt loved me. I imagine they went to Frank and he made final decision. 4 days after stage call from my recruiter not even the company and told I didn’t get it. Why advertise a job for relocation assistance and then I don’t get it because I’m relocating. Frank brags in interviews about caring for people, yet they knew I was without income, I had children, and I turned down a job(for 80k) because they wanted me to start before my stage and I’m not the person to accept a job then quit a week later (if I would of got FS job) Talked to everyone in the company except Frank and if he had a concern he could of picked up the phone and had a 5 min conversation . I felt my time was wasted.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at FS Food Group (Charlotte, NC) in Jul 2024
Interview
20 minute phone call with their in house recruiter. Mostly questions about the volume of past restaurants and questions about how you respond to difficult situations and thinking outside of the box. They said they would responds with an offer or rejection but never got back to me. Pretty disappointing.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at FS Food Group
Interview
CEO Frank was focused on ability to improve, and take initiative. Talked about the growing restaurant chain and need for good employees who would grow with them. I didn't have enough experience needed, and he likes to promote from within but it was a positive experience.
