I applied for this position on their website and was contacted via email about a week later to schedule a phone screen. I spoke with the HR rep a few days later and she asked me to explain my current role, how my experiences tie into the responsibilities of this role, and why I was looking to leave my current position, and then finally asked what kind of software I have used before and am currently using at my present job. She told me that they were really looking for someone with advanced excel skills and that experience with some more complex excel features are "must-haves" to land this position. She said that she would pass my information along to the hiring manager to see what they wanted to do and, the next day, I received an email saying that they were going to pursue other candidates.
