Interview
I applied online for the positon of support worker in Richmond. Looks like they use the agency called networx. Process took several weeks. I received an email from the agency asking me to call them. I called and they asked questions like why you want to work as a support worker, are you comfortable providing personal care, hours, and they booked an interview in a weeks’ time saying to bring all the documents. When I came to the interview: the building is very old, there were 2 women interviewing. What seemed strange to me is that one of them was dressed in see-though blouse through which her bra was showing. I thought it was rather inappropriate for this place really, it is a care home, not a night club! They asked lots of questions related to the care job, even though I never worked in this area, e.g. how would you explain someone about the money if they have learning disabilities, what hazards could be when you help a person to take a bath, to what you should pay attention if you are in service user’s house, what would you do if you see bruises on a service user,…etc. They asked if I have a DBS, but I never had it, they can do it for you for free, but they said that it can up to 4 months! I never heard anything back from this company.
