I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Gensler (San Diego, CA) in Apr 2022
Interview
I feel that different offices have different interview styles. The atmosphere in San Diego was more relaxed. The interviewer gave me enough time to describe my work and asked some questions about my ideas on using software and programming. However, the interview questions in the Los Angeles office were more pointed and the interviewer asked more templated questions and didn't pay much attention to your answers. It felt like they were just trying to finish a job quickly. Since my graduate portfolio consisted of mostly personal works, they directly questioned my teamwork ability and asked me to describe the core ideas and skills of teamwork, but I felt that they had already preconceived that my teamwork ability was insufficient, which was very frustrating.
