I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Georgia Budget and Policy Institute (Atlanta, GA) in Feb 2020
Interview
The interview consisted of two rounds of interviews all within perhaps two months after the submission deadline.
First round consisted of a few standard interview questions with the director. Second and last round was an in-person interview with a more conversational approach. I was told early on about the position timeline. It was supposed to be that they were going to reach out and let candidates know about the position a week after the last interviews but I never heard back. Perhaps some sort of communication error but overall, it seemed like a great place to work.

Interview
I was invited in for a first round interview but did not make it to the second round. The competition was steep and more than likely I did not have the exact skillset they were looking for. However, the atmosphere was fairly casual.

Question 1
Various questions on human services--I do not have much/direct experience in that area.

Interview
After submitting a resume, I was contacted by the organization's leader via phone and had two subsequent in person interviews. The first included a writing test and the second centered on a mock assignment. Leadership from the national parent organization dialed in for the second interview. The leadership and staff seemed competent, hard-working and dedicated to the organization's mission, despite a difficult political environment in Atlanta.

Question 1
Coming from the journalism side of things, I did not have much of a PR background, so technical questions about PR best practices were difficult for me. I was told I was one of three finalists for the position, but probably the least qualified and youngest of the three.
