I interviewed with Anton Flego for a senior software engineering role, and the experience was disappointing.
The interview focused heavily on trivial Java questions that did not meaningfully reflect real-world software engineering ability, system design, or problem-solving. There was little effort to explore practical experience, architectural decisions, or impact where areas that typically matter far more at a senior level.
The tone of the interview was also off-putting. Several comments came across as dismissive, including criticism of my resume points as being “difficult to understand,” despite those same points being clearly understood and well received by other interviewers and companies. Attempts to clarify were met with impatience rather than discussion.
At the end of the interview, I was told that the recruiter would “get back to you ... or not,” which reinforced the overall lack of professionalism in the interaction.
I applied online. I interviewed at Global Relay (Vancouver, BC) in Oct 2025

One call with HR, the HR is very friendly and meticulous, props to the HR who noticed the error in his email. One call with technical manager who asked me all the questions.

- 45min manager video call - went nice and smooth
- 2h technical session with 3 leads/managers - coding challenge followed by general technical discussions. During this part, one of the interviewers was rude, with a superiority attitude, making mocking comments and even scolding me during the interview process. He needs to learn that the interview process is a 2 way street. It's not only them interviewing you but also you interviewing them. For me it was clear I do not want to work with such people.
