I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Goodwill (South Akron, OH) in Nov 2009
Interview
Application was reviewed, along with a background check. There is a background check for all employees as well as volunteers. This is to safeguard the developmentally disabled people who work for GoodWill.
Once application has been reviewed and background check approved, interview process begins. One initial interview and one follow up interview, with a tour of the building.
The interviewing personnel were friendly, business like, and professional.
Once hired, a training session will be held with other new hires. This involves about six hours and explains the Goodwill mission, expectations, rules and regulations. It is also an informal affair with exercises in cooperation and there is a test.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The one I wasn't expecting was to offer a detailed example of a situation where I had to deal with a difficult coworker. I was asked what I did (if anything) to resolve the situation.
