Failed at the 20 minute phone screen interview. A bureaucratic interview style, assessed on scoring points to compete with 1000s of other candidates in this saturated market by asking questions that would not relate to actually doing the job. The questions were very specific and they look for very specific words you have to say to score "points", questions like "Tell me about a time you worked with new technology", "Walk me through what happens when you click a link of a browser", "what makes up HTTP", "What is Agile" + a bunch of follow up questions. All questions I thought I answered well but I guess I missed saying certain keywords to score more points.
The feedback I had was: "We did not see sufficient evidence of technical depth in backend software development, in particular at Mid level and above we require evidence of curiosity about the tradeoffs inherent in different technical choices and we did not see sufficient evidence of this."
