I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Graphic Image (Melville, NY) in Jan 2023
Interview
There were about 20 phone calls before getting offered the job. I received a call with the starting of "I was calling to make sure you were okay with the all information" and that was it. It wasn't difficult but it really makes me wish I didn't take the job because the unprofessionalism of the interview alone should've been a red flag.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked how I would handle a stressful situation and how I would prioritize tasks.

Interview
I applied online and I get invited for a phone interview a few days later the the VP who also had another Graphic Designer on the call with her who didn't say a word the entire time. The whole interview felt one-sided, as I could tell the VP wasn't really taking me or my experience seriously, evident with her general "Uh-huh" retort every few seconds as if I was boring her. Also she rudely interrupted me several times and there were points of awkward silences after I would finish her questions. At the end she claimed she would contact me with next steps, but predictably they never did as that was well over 2 weeks ago. Might as well, because after this interview and the other review I just read, I'll add it to my growing list of companies I never want to work for.

Interview
The first round of interviews was standard. After a phone interview with HR, I interviewed with two individuals from my eventual department. After that interview, I received a verbal offer. The strange part came after that verbal offer. Prior to a written offer, I was invited to a "secret meeting" with the CEO at 7:30am on a Monday morning so that I could be in and out before the office workers arrived. Frankly, I questioned my safety, but since the HR woman knew about the meeting, that gave me a modicum of ease. I thought perhaps I was entering a situation where I would be someone's replacement, hence the secrecy. Instead, the CEO "warned me" about the negative culture in my department and that I wouldn't actually be reporting to the original people that interviewed me because they didn't know what they were doing, business had been failing for years, etc. He told me to do what I wanted in the role and not listen to them and to come to him with issues. Red flags -- ultimately the negative culture came straight from the top and I should have heeded that warning. The culture of pitting employees against one another pervades the company.
