      Interview

I applied online. They were getting in touch with me two days after the application. I had to complete an online skill test. After that a skype interview with HR and TeamLead. They were friendly and prepared for the interview. I was invited to Viena to the office. The interview took 2,5 hours. Asked questions about C#, SQL and software development best practices. Overall it was a good experience.

      .NET Developer Interview

      29 Nov 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Vienna
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Greentube (Vienna) in Nov 2019

      Interview

I applied via LinkedIn. First I was sent an online test with open 40 questions. About a week or so after that I had a sort of "General discussion and culture fit" interview on Skype with the Team Lead and the Project Manager. A week after that I was invited for an on-site interview at their Vienna offices. The on-site arrangement itself turned out such that I had basically everything crammed into one day including two 3.5 hour flights and little sleep, which is definitely not a good idea in hindsight. They also stated that the interview would take 3 hours, in fact I had several interviews: HR, two Team Leads, the CTO and a computer based test, for me it took close to 5 hours and needless to say I was not in an ideal condition due to early morning flight. I would call the test "fair" in that they actually gave me a computer with Visual Studio and internet access to simulate an actual working environment, also the task was not huge and relatively compact. The minuses: Too many interviews crammed into one day can be overwhelming, especially when you're working on their coding task and suddenly the CTO wants to talk to you, I mean if I was actually working there that would be acceptable but when you're being tested it's a completely different feel. They say they want to simulate working inside their team, but this is obviously not true cause for most questions you might have about the task they basically say "well, you decide", and obviously you're being tested so the "part of the team" feels fake. They do have a code review at the end where there's some feedback. People here wrote that generally they have a very slow response time, I can confirm that at least for the final stage where they said they'd get back to me in 1.5 weeks max but it took them close to 3 weeks in actuality. Also, they are a company that deals with online gambling, so that might not be for everyone in terms of personal ethics.
