Applied for the position and got an email to set up a phone screen interview with a "Senior HR Business Partner- Talent Acquisition" a few hours after applying, because my resume, experience, technical knowledge, and skill set matched with 90%+ of the job description.
The phone screen interview was very odd. Usually the interviewer starts off by telling you more about the position, but this person jumped right in to asking questions and saved the description of the position for the end of the call, which really threw me off, especially after finding out this person has been a recruiter for 30+ years.
When it was my turn to ask questions, the interviewer was very short with her answers and did not even attempt to give me more insight into the company, but just answered the questions as they pertained to their
own personal self. As I said previously, it was a very odd interview. Unsurprisingly, I got a standard automated rejection email a few days later. It would have been nice to get to talk with the hiring manager instead of being filtered out by an extremely non-technical person who claimed that one of their biggest struggles was "finding good talent" after rejecting someone who matched the job description almost perfectly.
