To be fair, I didn’t attend the interview. I was contacted by three different ‘HSBC’ recruiters to fix my interview date/time who used the HSBC email addresses but in actual fact was outsourced to the AMS recruiter in Phillippines. How do I know? The number they called me from starts with +65 which means that they are calling from overseas because singaporeans would know that even though that’s the international dialing code but it shouldn’t appear on our phone if it was truly a local number. Secondly, the recruiters are so unprofessional. They asked about my past working experience and last drawn, etc, but couldn’t answer any question I asked about the job. That’s when he told me that he was calling from AMS and only the hiring manager would be able to answer job related questions. Then he said he would get back to me the following Monday, but oops, he would be on leave, so another colleague would call me. The second man called and asked for my schedule so he could check the hiring manager’s time. Then finally a third lady sent me an email to confirm the interview. By then, I was already super upset with the experience that I replied saying that I would give the interview a miss. Then she replied asking what did I mean, did I want to reschedule? I emailed reply and said no, I didn’t want to proceed further. And that’s it. Nobody replied or try to ask me why. What a candidate experience! I am waiting for the day when this position is filled and look up the person’s profile.
