Was approached by hiring manager for Archetype Entertainment; offer made and signed. Wouldn't start for a month however. They came back one week prior to start date and delayed due to background check concerns; I reached out and told them I would like to discuss. They delayed a second week. All this time I have turned down other job offers and interview requests. 6 weeks total from signing offer to being notified the thursday before starting, Offer rescinded solely due to "disturbing social media posts". This notice was sent from a contact that has never called me on the phone nor followed up on any requests for contact since signing the offer 6 weeks prior to. So switching their background check to include a deep dive into social media posts, but not sending me said social media posts in question. Nor was I any representative of the company as I had not worked a single day yet. Cost me over 6 weeks of work or the chance to follow through on other opportunities. Only to rescind based on an excuse in the end. I wouldn't work for this company if they doubled the offer. Watch yourself during the interview process. Shady and underhanded business practices to say the least. No documentation of "social media posts"; just made something up and went with it.
