I applied through other source. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Hilti Group (Johannesburg) in Nov 2021
Interview
Lengthy, which consisted of interviews by 7 people and 4 separate sessions.
While they acknowledge that the interview process is long, it is a waste of time and resources.
Given what Hilti as an OEM provides by way of hardware that is more a commodity rather than a capital purchase, the interview process for the "ideal candidate" is overkill.
There's no "ideal" candidate or company. It's perplexing as to why a company, any company would tie up time and resources for a process that's akin to acting ie. everyone's on their best behavior.
The interview process was so long and detailed that by the 4th round I knew exactly what was required without having been ever given a formal job description !
Several round of interviews , HR, hiring manager, senior co-workers.
Business oriented questions with need to elaborate on previous experience and fit to job description. Pleasant environment and challenging spirit.
Personality and confidence are key to such a role.
