Was contacted through an Hola recruiter and encouraged to apply. I said I was interested and we set up a time for the interview. I tried to call her at the time of our appt but she didn't answer and replied on email saying that the first stage did not involve any phone calls and was just the google doc. She sent me a google doc with questions at that time.
There was 2 questions on the google doc, one was to write a regex function and the other was to optimize a string related function. I was told not to use any outside resources or run the functions in the console. I didn't, but I'm pretty sure most people do since the questions are generic and easy to look up. I asked the interviewer how they deal with this exploit during the test and if I should add any comments or if the developer reviewing my function was watching me type the functions out, but was told "I'm just HR, not technical, but the developers at hola are very good at assessing JS skills"...bizarre.
One of the oddest and least sensical interview processes I've ever had.
