I did not hear back about my application until months after submitting it. The outreach was to schedule a call with a recruiter. I was initially excited but after checking the Glassdoor reviews, that excitement faded. I decided to move forward with the call anyway. The recruiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and explained the process clearly. The process involved a take-home assessment, a presentation, panel interviews, and a final interview with a department head. It sounded excessive, but since I am currently unemployed, I continued against my better judgment. The take-home assignment involved analyzing datasets and suggesting potential fraud rules. I completed the work and submitted it the very next morning. The following day I received a rejection along with feedback that did not reflect the contents of my submission. It felt generic and disconnected from the work I had done. Overall I am glad to have been rejected before investing more time into what seems like an overly long and inconsistent hiring process. I am sharing this because I imagine others have had similar experiences. Trust your instincts.
