I applied in-person. I interviewed at Hosthub (Athens, Athens, Attica) in Jul 2017
Interview
The whole was based on:
- getting to know me
- personal experience, past projects/job positions
- personal tech skills
- personal tech goals
- a tech assignment, back-end oriented, based on an API build on the framework the company uses
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Hosthub
Interview
Head asked me a couple of questions about my experience then one of the owners walks in without even greeting me; he first sat and then introduced himself. Then he takes over and carries on asking me questions; fine up to that point. Whilst talking about perks of working there he literally mentioned the 'big fruit bowl in the kitchen'. Really? wanted to laugh hard. The cherry on top was his last question about other applications I have made in other local start ups. They have made a company with recent graduates so salaries are basic.
Thanks for taking the time to post this feedback and I am sorry that you had a negative experience during your interview.
I am sure that the fruit plate was mentioned as an example of the fact that we try to take care of our people. We are a small group of people trying to build a big company. At one of our weekly meetings we had a conversation about how we can improve our life in the office and fresh fruit were mentioned.
We are just trying our best and although I understand this isn't a company car or daycare, working at Syncbnb should not feel nice because of the perks. We are proud of our team and I am sure you would love it here.
Wish you the best with your future endeavors.
