I was moving out of state and responded to an ad on Craigslist for an experienced cook to help open a new kitchen. This ad did not specify the name of the business or give a job description. I received an email response in less than one hour, which lead to questions about my job experiences from my resume. She asked about my philosophy regarding cooking, food, service etc. She asked me to come in for an in-person interview, and she said she felt I would be the right fit for the job. I felt great about the conversation, and I already had my move planned for that friday, so I traveled to my new home and met the owner. The in person "interview" was basically the owner giving me a tour of an empty space soon to be a kitchen, and rather casually asking me more questions about my job experiences and skill sets. By the end of the interview I dont think she ever told me I had the job- she just told me to report to work the next day. After a few days of what I now see were "working interviews" she told me she wanted me to help open her new kitchen.
