There were multiple rounds of interviews - in person and virtual. They admitted that their ideal unicorn candidate would be so well-connected in the IT industry and that that ideal hire would not need any training; however, that kind of candidate would warrant a salary much higher than the meager $82,000 that they were offering. Leadership was rude and offered little to no feedback. They seemed quite discouraged that they could not find their perfect unicorn candidate and had to continue to interview people and not even be able to offer that person 6 figures for the expertise and connections that they would bring to the table.
