Recruiter first did a thorough background check to ensure a good match. First interview was with the company owner and was a "do we like each other" kind of interview with no skills tested. At the end of the interview we scheduled a technical interview with the technical leader of the consultants. You will also often be asked to do some home programming and deliver the result up front of the technical interview. The skill testing is fairly thourough and you are expected to show great skills and ability of learning. Don't be surprised if you are asked to buy a book, read it, then review your code and see if there is anything you want to change. At this point you will either be declined or get a last interview where you will discuss salary and terms.
