The introductory conversation with the recruiter was professional, efficient, and positive. I was advanced to the next round quickly and met with the VP within 24 hours, which reinforced the stated urgency around the role, described to me as "Priority 0." Initially, the recruiter was attentive and proactive, checking in regularly, offering interview preparation support, and making herself readily available for questions.
Following my conversation with the VP, I sent follow-up notes to both interviewers. In both interviews, I was told I was a strong fit for the position. However, after that point, communication ceased entirely. Despite the initial responsiveness and emphasis on urgency, I received no further updates or closure. The recruiter stopped responding altogether.
While I understand that hiring priorities can shift, the abrupt lack of communication after such an engaged start was disappointing. The experience ultimately reflected a disconnect between the company’s stated urgency and its follow-through, leaving a less-than-positive impression of the hiring culture.
