The service doesn't know what they're doing when it comes to that particular position. They're looking mainly to see if you seem to know what you're talking about. So if you come off confident in your answer, even if it is wrong, you'll get an offer.

They asked me what I wanted to be paid, although they already established what I was getting paid.
