Question 1
Can you describe how the market has performed over the last 2 years? What motivates you? What interests you about this industry?
Fairly simple interview steps. Gauged interest and asked questions about the market and career goals. Overall had a great conversation with the interviewers to shed light about the position and projected path.

Question 1
What is an asset allocation? What are some steps to describe investment products?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Invesco (Atlanta, GA) in Jun 2020
Interview
First and foremost, this position is neither an advisory or consultant position as the title would suggest. It is an INTERNAL WHOLESALER position where you work 1 to 1 with an EXTERNAL WHOLESALER.
Compensation is not fair for the position either. You will be expected to do all the sales, outbound calling and appointment setting for your assigned EXTERNAL WHOLESALER. You will NOT receive equal pay for doing most of the work. The management team informed me that this position receives 25% or less commission from sales made while the EXTERNAL WHOLESALER makes the lion’s share of the commission.
Hiring process started with phone call from HR recruiter screening for interview. Went well. She asked general questions about experience and education.
Interview was conducted via Zoom in two time blocks concurrently. It was a group interview with two Wholesaler Managers first asking questions related to investment sales, relationship building and networking.
Second block included three Wholesaler Managers that were not as friendly or professional as the first block.
Overall, as an investment professional, this was an unproductive and unprofessional interview on behalf of the “experienced” sales managers at Invesco. There is plenty of competition out there. Consider other options that this outdated company that is still pushing high expense Oppenheimer funds.
