The absolute worst interview process ever. For a company that prides itself on AI and automation, they should be able to efficiently process applicants through an organized and effective interview process right? No, and that spoke volumes to me.
Even if I was offered the position (I was not - the CMO of all people, and I didn't see eye to eye), I would have said no thanks. Why would you even have a CMO interview a security lead anyhow? I guess 6 interviews already wasn't enough... In total, 7 interviews that took almost 3 months, with numerous people, departments - it was horrendous. HR and the recruiters would go dark for a week+ sometimes, no replies to emails, just ghosted like so many other reviews mention. All for a very sub-par salary that wasn't even close to average VP Cybersecurity pay.
No thanks.
Guys - please remember, you are interviewing a company as much as the company is interviewing you. If the hiring and interview process is abysmal, it's a solid indication of how their business operations and processes are behind the scenes. IMO they were disorganized, slow, and while they knew they needed security for compliance and regulatory, everybody had a different concept of what they thought the position was supposed to be. Culture seemed fast paced but nobody wanted or had the ability to make decisions without consulting with 3 other people first. Not a good first impression when you are going to be tasked with a role dealing with important issues around security, risk, and privacy. I would not be surprised at all to see Invisible in the news in the near future, after suffering a privacy, data, or security compromise, unless they change and prioritize efforts appropriately.
My advice to Senior Management - concentrate on your culture, get everybody working on the same sheet of music, prioritize business operations, and empower your leaders to make decisions.
Good luck!
