      Talent Acquisition Specialist Interview

      4 Jun 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Madison, WI
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at J.P.Cullen (Madison, WI)

      Interview

The interview process was extremely long and complex - especially for a candidate that ended up not getting an offer. The initial phone interview with the recruiter was over an hour long. As a recruiter myself, that is way too long. I was then moved to an hour long onsite interview to meet with two members of the team. They shared that they enjoyed the conversation and wanted to move me forward. Next steps from there included an hour long proctored math, reading, and spatial assessment (it felt like an SAT/ACT assessment), a motivational survey, and personality test. All in all, I’ve probably committed over 4 hours of my own time to end up not getting an offer. I would recommend that they only move people to the assessment once the candidate has actually accepted an offer and make it part of the pre-employee screening process. I also wasn’t given any valuable feedback to why I wasn’t selected - just that they found another person that was better aligned. Again, as a recruiter myself I know how important it is to provide meaningful feedback so people can improve. I was told that I was a fantastic candidate, great interview and did well on the assessments but just wasn’t the right fit. Overall, I didn’t feel my time was valued and the process needs to be simplified if they want to keep candidates engaged.
