The process took 1 day. I interviewed at JCPenney (Noblesville, IN) in Jun 2010
Interview
Originally filled out fairly extensive online questionairre. Focused on everything from personality to situational responses. Was called for a one on one interview three weeks later. Met with Supervisor of the footwear department. Very professional and very cordial. Asked fairly general questions, then asked how I would handle three hypothetical situations if I worked there. The supervisor took good notes of my response. Also asked me several questions about my skills, etc. This place seemed very well managed and the people appeared content as they were working. The interview process was organized. After my 30 minute interview, the Assistant Store Manager came in to meet one on one with me. His first words were to compliment my eyeglasses - good start! He asked some general questions to learn more about me and then offered me the job.

Question 1
Please provide a time when you worked on a team to accomplish a goal or project. How did it go?
Easy, got hired in 1 week and was able to start as soon as possible. It was a good process and I liked the people I interviewed with. The culture is off to a positive start.
The interview process begins with an initial screening to review qualifications and experience. Selected candidates then participate in one or more interviews with the hiring team, which may include behavioral and role-specific questions. Final candidates may be asked to complete an assessment or meet with senior stakeholders before a hiring decision is made. Candidates are kept informed throughout the process.
