I applied online. I interviewed at JQ Engineering (Houston, TX) in Dec 2020
Interview
The interview process consisted on responding to an ad they placed on their website. I had an interview with their HR person. She seemed nice. I had to cancel it because I was really sick the first time. The last thing I wanted to do was not give the HR person my full attention to what she was saying. I was promised the second stage of the interview would happen next week.
Guess what, folks? This did not happen at all. I did not know if she was on vacation or had died because we are in a middle of a pandemic. There was no out-of-office response done so I had no idea what was going on.
I contacted her and the fellow principals just to follow up. Guess what? I got an email saying the interview would happen later in the week.
The firm canceled my interview at the last minute. I was not given a specific reason why. I was told by HR I would be kept in my for future opportunities. That has never happened with them. It is disheartening for a company to do this to someone who saved them from legal jeopardy many years ago. This is a very unprofessional company based on my experience during the interview. And it makes the bad reviews on Glassdoor more credible because of the way I was just treated. These folks are as dense as osmium, the densest chemical element on earth.
