I interviewed for this position in January 2022. First level interview was with the hiring manager. Great interview and honest answers to my questions.
I moved on to the second level interview with the incumbent's manager and a peer. This interview went very well also. Good questions asked and honest answers which I very much appreciated.
Within a few hours after my 2nd interview I heard back from the hiring manager. I was being scheduled for a final interview and they wanted to do it within the following 2 days.
I met with the position director. He seemed pretty straight forward, asked some good questions, and answered mine. This is where things began to derail. He specifically told me he felt companies need to respect the time and commitment candidates make for the process. As such, he believed each candidate deserves to know where they end up. I was told it might take about a week to get back to me as he had other candidates still to interview. Seemed honest and I appreciated that.
I followed up with the corporate recruiter who was my main contact through the process and asked her if there was an update when I had heard nothing in a little over a week. She replied that she would ask the Director. I never heard back. So I waited 2 more weeks and asked again. Only this time it went unacknowledged. Now, an additional 2 weeks has gone by and it's very clear I've been ghosted. Ghosted after being moved through the process exceptionally quick and fed what is now a lie by the Director. Shame because I was keen on the team I spoke with and how honest they seemed to be along the way.
Loved the team but I can't do the disrespectful lying act of the team's boss. Integrity is everything.
