I applied online. I interviewed at Juniper Industries (Middle Village, NY)
Interview
No pre phone interview and does thorough autocad/inventor test. Then test some written engineering knowledge. Also ask about resume and what you are doing in New York and work style. Not too deep. Sometimes gives an offer right away but be careful of wording. Sometimes the times are longer than typical 8 hour workday and would let you know the salary range that includes overtime.

Interview
The site in Queens, NY was unkept inside and out. This is probably due to the dozens of contractors who walk in and out of this building all day. After speaking to a clerk behind a security window, I was told to wait in a very old, dirty, crowed, and, loud office with a half dozen technical sales/engineers while filling out an application. There were stacks of papers on every desk, 1990's computers and no dividers between their sandwiched desks, so one guy shouted over another to make simple phone calls. One guy sitting at his desk backed up too far and ran over my shoe with no apology. At that point I should have walked out. When it was time for their breaks they put their heads down on their desks and closed their eyes. The walk to the interview area revealed one large room with some overcrowded departments crunched together similar to the sales/engineers area. I think this is the area that I would be working in (although I was never told). The interview took about 45 minutes and I was asked the typical questions about my past experiences. They told me very little about their company. At no point in time was salary discussed. The process was very one sided, quick and to the point.

Question 1
(After giving me the general work hours I was asked) Would you be okay with working 10+ hour days during the week and also every Saturday morning? (I quickly calculated that it would be just shy of 60 hours per week.)
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Juniper Industries (Middle Village, Otsego, NY) in Jul 2011
Interview
The interviewer was clear and concise to the point of the job description. He never stated an immediate response to my candidacy of the position in question. He drilled me on weird irrevelant questions: "What was your favorite subject(s) during school and why?" including "what were you least favorite subject(s) during school and why?" The staff do not appear happy amid friendly but not very sincere hospitality to welcome visitors. Office is extremely clustered with papers and appears very dated to 1970s era.
