I was first interviewed over the phone for about 45 mins. I then received an email with a few tasks that had to be completed within 3 days (these were tasks to further determine your qualifications -- task prioritization, email writing, etc). After a week or so, I was contacted by the recruiter to set up an in-person interview. The in-person interview was set for the following week on a Monday. I travelled to the school location and met with the recruiter, prospective manager, principal (briefly), and two other school staff members (briefly). The in-person interview took about 1hr and I was asked the genetic interview questions (i.e. what are your strengths, weaknesses, where do you see yourself in the next 3 yrs, etc). I also asked a few questions to the interviewer, not your genetic "how long you've been here" questions. After the interview I felt confident that everything went well, but a few days after I received the genetic "thank you for your time, but after a careful consideration we do not feel like we have the best fit for you" email from the recruiter. I was floored and confused after reading the email because I honestly thought that my experience aligned with what they were looking for. I followed up the recruiter's email with an email seeking feedback about my interviewing skills in order to become a stronger candidate in the future. I have yet to receive a response from the recruiter... hopefully I do. I am extremely interested in joining KIPP NYC.
I am very disappointed that I was not offered the position.
