I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Kabuki Japanese Restaurants (Glendale, AZ)
Interview
Interview was about 15-20minutes. The interviewer asked a series of situational questions and experience in hospitality. There will also be second interview if you land the first one. Servers start off food running before taking tables.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Kabuki Japanese Restaurants (Burbank, CA) in Apr 2018
Interview
The interview process was much like all the other "entry-level" / chain restaurants. They all have certain standards they would like their future and current staff to uphold.
I wore a "casual" formal interview attire which was an ironed button up, clean slacks, and topped it off with a fresh shave and clean haircut.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1) Tell me about yourself
2) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
3) Availability and willingness to work weekends
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Kabuki Japanese Restaurants (Los Angeles, CA) in Mar 2021
Interview
Very quick and to the point, the manager was respectful and on time. Understood my lack of experience in the food industry and asked about that, but didnt feel judged by it either.
