      I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Kraken (Chicago, IL) in May 2026

      Interview

      The interview process was exceptionally well-organized and candidate-friendly from start to finish. The recruiter, Josie, set the tone immediately—she was warm, transparent, and genuinely invested in making sure both sides found the right fit. The process consisted of four stages: an initial recruiter screen, a competency-based interview with two senior team members, and a case study presentation round and final round is with hiring team. Each stage was clearly communicated in advance—what to expect, who you'd be meeting, and how to prepare. There were no surprises. The competency interview with the hiring team was conversational rather than interrogative. Antoine (Transformation Director) and Declan (Technical Program Lead) were engaged, knowledgeable, and created a genuinely comfortable environment to share experience and ask questions. It felt like a real two-way conversation rather than a one-sided evaluation. Even after not advancing, the team provided detailed, constructive feedback—which is rare and incredibly valuable. The entire experience reflected a company that respects candidates' time and treats people with professionalism and dignity throughout. If you're interviewing at Kraken, come prepared with strong transformation program examples, a clear understanding of their platform philosophy, and genuine passion for their mission. The Kraken way—simplicity, iterative delivery, client transformation—should come through in everything you say.
