I applied through other source. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at LA Fitness (Mississauga, ON)
Interview
Straight forward. Questions about sales knowledge and experience. Knowledge of fitness and personal training. They check your comfort level with their sales strategies and philosophies. You are then interviewed by the manager of the manager.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at LA Fitness (North Chicago, IL) in Oct 2014
Interview
the interview and hiring process is done in the same process as sales. they make you feel as if it is urgent, force you to start before you're ready, inevitably this leads you to making a decision that is best for the company and not for you. I was in fact been hired via text message - "which stated it comes down to you and another guy" in the criteria they used for apparently hiring me was the fact that I could start one day earlier than the other candidate.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
there are many interview questions that were asked, simply because this is the strategy used to hire employees. at least the district manager that I interviewed with this was the case. he seemed to like to talk about himself very much, essentially he was seeing if I would buy into what he was selling - which is an indicator of a weak point in any applicant.
what they look for is a person who is competitive, to the point where there is not a mutual exchange of information but rather a one-sided manipulation.
if you interviewed with this company and never see the job- is a blessing in disguise as this job requires you to sacrifice too much character for too little compensation.
