      Assistant Project Manager Interview

      27 Mar 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at LaForce in Mar 2015

      Interview

First was the phone interview. It was nice and semi formal with the standard questions: Tell me about yourself, How much are looking at making, Strength and weakness. It lasted about an hour. They told me they would call me after a few more interviews. They emailed me (due to some difficulties) and the next day I had a one on one with the HR manager and the recruiter. The office was clean, over all environment was nice. Their mission statement and Core Values were on the wall...should be on their webpage and job posts..but they are not..hint..hint. A place I would like to work in. The interview was very laid back and I did most of the talking. They asked me to explain the last job, what I look for in a company, core values, what I like most and least about my jobs, and whatever. They didn't do the whole sheet so either I answered to their satisfaction or they figured I was not needed at that point. They asked me what my questions. Mine where what type of leadership organization would I be under...functional, matrix, hybrid.....couldn't really answer it but I got the la-gist that it was more of a hybrid. I asked them what what they thought about me and they responded that I did well. I didn't have many at that time...I suggest the next interviewee have at least 3. SO...why negative? I am a professional...laid back but I will tell you the truth and be professional. They told me that the next day that they would contact me and tell me if I will receive a third interview with the Hiring Manager (HM). A day and half goes by and I am thinking "okay discussion". So first I emailed them because I had a question about what software that they use...and no response...ever. So after a day and a half I followed up...left a voice mail...no response...ever. Saturday morning I get a automated rejection letter. I understand that there is a better candidate but they could have called me when they said they would and let me know and informed me what my failings were so I can be a better candidate. Not very professional. That is the only reason I give a negative. I have reviewed and declined offers but it is professional to discuss with them so that they can improve themselves. I don't know if that is standard practice but I hold myself to a higher level of accountability. My mistakes: Bring something to write on and have questions on. I forgot my portfolio. Be about 15 minutes early. Had some construction in my area so I was about 5 min early...might as well be late..I guess. I don't know if this was a mistake probably was: The interview is over and I was apologizing for my phone not being friendly and I showed them my phone because I have been trained to show not just tell your answers. I guess play it safe and don't.

      Interview

First phone interview with HR followed by 2nd phone interview roughly a week and a half later. Received request for in person interview, another two weeks out. In person cancelled by company day before interview. Bad Experience for such an unnecessarily drawn out process.

      Project Manager Assistant Interview

      26 Jun 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Milwaukee, WI
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at LaForce (Milwaukee, WI) in Jun 2015

      Interview

2.5 weeks after application, I received an email asking to set up a time for a phone interview. 1 week later, an email from the HR recruiter requesting to come in for an HR interview, and was told that I would know either way by the next week. One business day later I received an email asking to schedule an interview with the hiring managers. I liked the interviewers and felt comfortable with them. The HR interview was all behavioral questions read from a 3-4 page document. I'm glad that I was prepared. The hiring managers interview was more laid back and informal. There were some of the questions that you would expect like, "how would you handle a situation like" but also discussion on how they go about things. I felt that they represented the company and it's employees positively.
