I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Life Time (Chanhassen, MN) in May 2013
Interview
Had an interview with the department head of the Member Services. Then had a group interview with the General Manager of the club.
This is how I got the job. I dressed up. I pot on a suit and walked in and asked to speak with the manager of a department. She was busy at the time so I spoke with the assistant department head. We had a short conversation about my interest in the online opening for the Member services position. She took down my name and submitted it to the department head. The next day I received a phone call from the department head of member services. During that time we set up a 1 on 1 interview.
During the 1 on 1 interview there were a lot of general questions. Why Life Time Fitness?
How do you work in a team?
After that interview they asked me to stay and do some on the job training to get a realistic idea of what it was like to work at the front desk. Basically I took over swiping cards for members. After the interview I received the date of the interview with the general manager.
The general manager interview was a group interview in which he posed us all questions about how we function in a team, our enthusiasm when it comes to learning.
We were also required to have memorized the mission and vision for the interview. I believe this is dependent on the general manager, and not all clubs may have you do it.
Life Time's interview process was not a hard process, they just ask about your personal goals and where you see yourself in the future. They like customer service experience and passion for health.

Name a time you went above and beyond for someone.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Life Time (Beachwood, OH) in Sept 2017
Interview
I applied for a position as a Team Member in Member Services. I had a total of 3 interviews - 1 with the Member Services Manager, 1 with the Member Services Assistant Manager, and 1 with the General Manager of the club. Each interview was 1-1.
I wasn't shocked by any of the questions they asked. Most were normal questions focusing on my skills, schedule, and why I wanted to work at Life Time. The interviews were very repetitive, but thankfully seemed more geared to see if you would take the job position seriously. During my initial interviews, I was told that the General Manager would ask me to recite the company's mission & vision statement from memory. When I interviewed with him, this was the case.
While my interviews were all 1-1, I found that most other employees at my club had group interviews to begin, with a follow up interview with the General Manager.
Being that this was almost a minimum wage job ($10/hour), I was shocked at how many interviews I had to go through. In my opinion, this job wasn't anything special, but was still better than working in the food industry. It will also you allow you to add more to your resume in terms of account management, etc.
