I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Lighthouse Games (Royal Leamington Spa, England) in May 2024
Interview
The process include 3 interviews. Overall, the whole process is confusing and without effective communication. 3 months after submitting the application, I got an email about the first 30-min interview with Head of Engineering. I replied with my availabilities for the next 2 weeks. However, 1 month after my reply, HR got back to me and booked a date for that first meeting after briefly apologizing for the delay. I emailed HR back to ask for the format of the interview and was told it didn't involve any technical questions, only questions relating to my experiences and background. However, the majority of the first interview was to go over a C++ file and answer C++ questions - luckily I still reviewed the materials despite what HR told me. I was booked in for the next interview, which is a technical one. This one was with the same person interviewing me for the first one - and the 2 rounds of interviewing with him was quite pleasant and the questions were quite interesting. The third round was on-site and I was interviewed by 4 different people, despite being told initially that there would be only 3. HR also rescheduled the meetings and changed a few details a day before the interview. After the last interview round, HR called me and said the interview was really positive and would like to move me to the offer stage. He called again 2 days later to clarify about my visa status. However, 2 weeks after that call, there was no communication despite my follow-ups and suddenly I received a rejection email saying the last interview was not good and I lacked certain technical experiences.
