My experience started off positively — both the recruiter and the hiring manager were great to speak with. However, one of the subsequent interviews was disappointing and raised some concerns.
The interviewer arrived about 10 minutes late, appeared disengaged from get go, and rushed through the conversation with no introductions or context setting. The pace was abrupt — just a couple of customary questions asked quickly, and the call ended roughly 10 minutes early.
What stood out most was the interviewer mentioning past layoffs multiple times, which added to an already uncomfortable tone. The entire interaction felt off — not just rushed, but also lacking the professionalism and energy I would expect, especially from a leader on a business team.
While the initial conversations were promising, this particular interview made me question the team dynamics and overall company culture.
Hi! I am sorry to hear you had a negative interviewing experience and thank you for the feedback. We do take this feedback very seriously and are working on changes to ensure this does not happen again.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Lightning AI in Aug 2023
Interview
Received an email from their recruiter, standard questions about prior experience and about programming languages I had worked in. Next interview was a coding round with the CTO. Just one question and general discussion around the solution.
