I heard back from LunaJoy quickly after I applied. The interview was a very casual/short 20 minute interview on Google Meet. I was able to ask any questions I had about the role. I was told next step is to have the hiring manager look over resume and then I will hopefully get an offer.
I applied online. I interviewed at LunaJoy in Oct 2024
Interview
Step 1: Talk with HR, the usual robotic bit.
Step 2: Small case study with a 5 minute presentation + Small SQL test abandoning all the good practices + questions based on those.
Step 3: Offer/Rejection.
Supposed to hear a response within 2 weeks. Sent out a "love letter" on the 3rd week only to get the robotic rejection email that feels automated anyway.
Dug a bit deeper and found out that not only they've changed the entire JD and subsequent job scope massively to include Data Analyst + ML Engineer + Data Engineer all-in-one,
Also found out from their website that the ballpark numbers for salary sits at around $5,000 in the previous JD, to this "new" scope that massively underpays at $2,000. That new JD is now expired too, so I'd assume they ended up not hiring anyone at all because they are clueless on what they should/want to do.
An initially decent impression ended up turning sour. Absolute shambles and a complete waste of time. Perhaps they are not expanding as trumpeted and are one step away from a complete meltdown.
Think twice before applying, could happen to you.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at LunaJoy
Interview
Slow hiring process and then ghosted. 3 weeks between interviews. The COO was 20 mins late to our interview and did not apologize. She seemed distracted. She said I would be following up within 2 weeks, it has now been 6+ months. Safe to assume that she is NOT following up.
