The whole process is well established and professional. Its stages are quite standard. First, an HR manager called me and asked if I was interested in a position with this company other than the one I initially applied. After my affirmative question, I was interviewed by the project manager and then, a day later, by a US-based senior developer of the project I was supposed to join. There is no chance to get hired if you do not qualify. The final stage was a call from the HR manager who asked when I can start. The whole process was implemented remotely and took less than a week to complete.
