1. 3rd party recruiter phone screen
2. Phone interview with Hiring Manager
3. In-person panel interview
4. Another in-person panel interview
5. Final presentation with panel + meet & greet with CEO
I was told that I was pending offer by the hiring manager as well as the recruiter, but just as quickly as I was told that I was quickly told they couldn't meet my comp level.
Here's why this is preposterous:
1. They asked for comp requirements in the first phone screen (the mandatory first step so you don't waste people's time).
2. I was given a verbal that we could move forward knowing my comp level.
3. I got to the end, and the CEO stepped in and said I wasn't worth that comp level (this came directly from the recruiter).
My thoughts:
A complete failure from HR, the CEO, and Hiring Manager to not be aligned on the comp structure from the beginning and thus waste my time. Their behavior could be summed up perfectly with the word 'repugnant'.
