      Marketing Associate Interview

      3 Apr 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Jose, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at MOTA MOTORS (San Jose, CA) in Jun 2016

      Interview

One phone screening, next day Skype interview, In person interview the following week. Initial Skype interview was held by a young individual who ended up being their front desk agent. Didn't seem qualified to be in HR as well considering she was reading canned questions that were all behavioral and resume based. Interview in person was about 3 hours long, held by 1-3 members of each department at a time. Everyone was kind and courteous and gave me a brief overview of how the marketing department is structured, and asked me what department I would be the best fit for. Kinda difficult to choose when you don't know the daily operations of them. Also included a writing test and an untimed quiz on spotting errors in a technical document related to one of their products. Of the 6 people who interviewed me, 1 never showed and four read off of scripts. I never felt pressured or uncomfortable but each had a copy of my resume with notes so I knew they did put some effort into researching me. Afterwards no followup. Pretty rude considering the time and distance I invested into interviewing.
