This is probably one of the worst interviews I have ever experienced. I have never felt so belittled and undermined. I was immediately concerned when I joined the Zoom call and one looked like he had just rolled out of bed, wearing a large sweatshirt, and his background was a mess, which I found very unprofessional. They barely asked me any questions about my background or experience. The schedule sounded borderline abusive. They said I would be working all nights and weekends, with no timeline on how long that would last—possibly up to 10 years. They mentioned it would take a damper on my social life, and getting time off would be hard. The salary offering was $46,000 with no benefits. I told them I was an avid Yankees fan, and their follow-up question was, "Can you name 5 players not on the Yankees?" I was honestly shocked by this question; nowhere in the job description did it state I needed that type of knowledge. I told them I could not answer the question. It was an extremely uncomfortable interview, and I could tell it is a very male-driven workplace.
While I understand the sport is more popular with men, I felt that since I am a female, they were asking me different questions than they would have asked a male candidate.
At the conclusion of the interview, they told me it might take them a while to get back to me—up to 1-2 weeks, possibly a month—but they assured me they would be in contact. My interview was on April 26th, and it is now July 16th, and I still have not received any response.
This was by far the worst interview I have ever done. I cried after the interview because I was so distraught.
