I was initially contacted by a recruiter, recruiter asked for a phone interview. I agreed and conducted the phone interview with them a few days later. It felt like the recruiter focused on my job I had 5 years ago rather than my most recent and relevant experience.
After a week I was notified of another interview with a higher up HR staff. Strangely enough the questions in this interview were less detailed and the HR staff spent more time talking up the company than anything else. After that, I was transferred to another individual who potentially worked in the department. That individual seemed to ask me more basic questions, and talked about the company, throughout the process they seemed more focused on where I lived than my experience and qualifications. I felt like each person spent 5+ minutes asking about me being out of state with little regards how close I am to the border. They also had a strange policy of requiring workers to reside within the state, with little justification as to why when I asked.
A week later they informed me they chose other candidates. I assume this is due to me asking for flexibility to relocate to the state the office is located in.
