      Anonymous Interview

      22 Feb 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Palo Alto, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Medallia (Palo Alto, CA)

      Interview

I interviewed in 2014. The process was a little long (consisting of 6 1on1s and a "challenge" presentation), but it was incredibly thorough for both me and Medallia. I valued the opportunity to meet as many people as possible. I was really struck by the consistency of the (high) quality of people I met: curious, warm, honest, open and smart. Folks seemed to be from different backgrounds, but they all seemed to be similar on these dimensions. My interview questions were pretty straightforward, but still challenging. I found myself being more introspective than I had to be in any other set of interviews I've had. I was asked about my leadership style, my ups and downs in my career to date, my professional choices, my vision for what I wanted to do and build at Medallia, etc... I appreciated that they were trying to learn a holistic view of who I was as a person. While the process was a little long, it was very smooth. I ended up feeling like I was good friends with the coordinator by the end since she was always checking in on me and took time to get to know me as a person. My advice to others: be yourself.

Thank you for your feedback. Your appreciation for our process, flaws and all, exemplifies the type of partnership we hope to achieve with every candidate. When the process gets lengthy (as it sometimes does), we hope that candidates see the way we do: as an opportunity to get to know one another as holistically as possible. I'm excited that you're joining us and look forward to welcoming you personally.

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Medallia (Palo Alto, CA) in Apr 2015

      Interview

Overall, a very in-depth and valuable interviewing process. Medallia really cares about the type of person they are hiring, and making sure it fits with the company culture. They dig deep discovering who you are with a standard phone interview, interview with an assignment to be completed, evaluation of the assignment, and then an opportunity to meet current employees. Be true to who you are, and go in with an open mind
